Take a Magic Carpet Ride
As adults we use carpets and rugs in our home to create a certain image and look. They provide a comfortable place to sit, play or work and can give a room an overall warmer, sometimes magical feeling. When it comes to educational carpets for children, they can have additional benefits. Not only do carpets add a little color and style to the classroom space, but they can improve acoustics, and most importantly provide an opportunity for children to learn about numbers and basic math, letters, word recognition, geography, or science in a comfortable atmosphere.
Everyone can agree that no one likes to sit on a hard floor. According to The Carpet and Rug Institute, the majority of public school teachers surveyed in 2001 said they preferred carpet for its comfort, noise reduction and safety benefits. Teachers have also experienced a positive change of attitude as they pull their students away from rigid chairs and desks. In other words, there’s something really nice about everyone sitting together as a group on the carpet and experiencing a sense of a community or being part of a group or team.
