This shelf is very nice. Love the size. It was very easy to assemble. Directions were clear and it came with the Alan to tighten the screws. It’s pretty heavy duty and will hold up to a lot of use which is great for me because I am using this in a daycare and kids are rough. I really like that it has a lot of space for storage. Most of my shelving is two shelves high this one is 3 and it makes a good center room divider. I placed it near our Art tables and it has space for all of our paper, art supplies, and makes access to these items easy for our older kiddos.

This Children’s Factory 3 shelf storage is really nice. It’s super easy to build in about 20 minutes and everything lined up perfect. The wood is finished well with a smooth feel it’s fairly heavy and very sturdy. This is a good value shelf for the quality.
I’m very pleased with this shelf. The edges are all rounded. It looks nice, and the finish is not just a glued on laminate, but it seems to be a part of the composite wood. (I am no expert, but I’ve had a little experience with furniture that needs to be assembled at home.) The shelf is much stronger than most of the cheap stuff you buy at the big box store. I can see it lasting for many years. I was able to move the shelf by tipping it on end after it was assembled and it did fine with that. Some of my cheaper shelves would have fallen apart under their own weight pressure at a different angle. I would say this is a great budget alternative to hardwood and I can see it holding up under typical classroom use. It holds a lot of books, and the top shelf is just right for a row (or two) of vhs tapes in the cardboard box if you still have any of those around. The bottom shelf sits about 1/2 inch off the floor. Here are some observations on assembly: 1. The box is heavy (about 70 lbs.) and hard to grip. Also the packaging was a box within a box. Get help if you are weak and need to haul it upstairs. You will need a pair of scissors for opening the package. 2. There are 4 simple steps, and only one type of screw so it’s pretty easy to understand the instructions and assemble like the picture. If you mess up you can take the screws out and turn the board around. The shelves are mostly labeled in plain English, so that’s nice. 3. Allow plenty of space, it will make your life easier when you have to slide in the back panels. 4. The hex key it comes with is awesome! Easy to grip and turn with its wide handle. That’s important as there are quite a few screws to put in with it. Allow a half hour or so to put it together. 5. The back panels are pretty thick, almost 1/4 inch, so that is nice. Do be a little careful when assembling because I think I dinged the edges a little bumping into stuff, but I can’t see those edges anyway after it is together. The shelf came with a plastic strap to prevent tip overs but I didn’t feel the need to use it in the location I have it.
We got this Children’s Factory Value Line 3 Shelf Storage (48″ L x 36″ H) for our playroom, and it has been a game-changer for keeping books, toys, and learning materials organized. The natural finish looks clean and modern, and the size is perfect, not too bulky, but still roomy enough for plenty of items.
Very easy to assemble and super straightforward. Just make sure not to tighten all the screws until you’re completely done so you can adjust the back panel perfectly. Once everything is aligned, tighten it up and it feels sturdy and secure.
